MARQUES’ALMEIDA SS19

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

So very glad I was able to finally attend a Marques'Almeida show, their second one as part of the Paris Fashion Week official schedule. Since their debut in 2011 with Fashion East and with the LVMH 2015 prize under their belt, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida have certainly come a long way!

Their Spring/Summer 2019 collection resumes lots of elements the duo has been exploring during the last years, mixing their Portuguese roots with their European community and particularly with London, where Marques'Almeida has been established.

Conceiving the show and the collection, their models, the M'A girls, played also a big role. The show itself took place on the rooftop of a high school in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, the very same one Laurença, one of the models hitting the catwalk, attended years ago.

The show was magic, while the voice of Benjamin Clementine reached out to our souls, the M'A girls walked the runway on a surprisingly warm sunny day in Paris, as if we were under the Portuguese sky.
