It's with great pleasure that on Day 3 of London Fashion Week Men's I was invited to discover the new Bianca Saunders collection: "Unravelling". After her SS19 show, I was looking forward to sketching again during the presentation.

For Autumn/Winter 2019 Bianca keeps exploring the black male identity, this time in the intimate setting of their bedroom, a safe place where everybody is more inclined to open without fear. Indeed, the designer has worked closely with set designer Tina Vaia, to mimic the set of a bedroom, recreated in the exclusive Matchesfashion's 5 Carlos Place boutique.

In this collection, Bianca's world unfolds gently, exploring twisted seams, shirring and elasticated techniques. As a sort of Part 2 of her previous collection, this time as well the boundaries between femininity and (hyper)masculinity are under her radar.

'Unravelling' is an examination of feeling safe in your own space and how this can be achieved as well through clothing.
