STELLA MCCARTNEY AW20

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

Presented in the beautiful Opera Garnier in Paris, the Autumn/Winter 2020 Stella McCartney collection is an ode to strong and free-spirited women, those visionaries and trailblazers who are not afraid of pushing boundaries and explore new territories.

The new offering of the British designer is a contemporary take on a luxurious vision of fashion with masculine cuts adapted into womenswear pieces and voluminous silhouettes. Some of the prints that are part of the collection are the result of an elegant collaboration with the archives of Erté, the French-Russian designer and artist.

The colour palette consists of earthy and mineral tones like clay, charcoal, sand in contrast with hints of lilac and ginger. Stella McCartney is well known for being one of the pioneers in sustainable fashion and once again she hasn't used any real leather to produce the collection.

This sketch, created during the show, is part of my Paris Fashion Week AW20 illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Italia.
