RIXO AW20

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

"The Lacroix DNA is so in tune with RIXO’s – their vibrant visual prints and their completely individual and empowering viewpoint on style- it felt natural to collaborate."

During London Fashion Week RIXO founders, Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey, welcomed guests to the luxurious Kimpton Fitzroy London to unveil a see now-buy now collection in collaboration with the House of Christian Lacroix.

RIXO founders were invited to Paris to dig into the House of Christian Lacroix’s archive in order to capture the spirit of Christian Lacroix’s work and create a collection of nineteen refined ready-to-wear looks. A podium, in the middle of the venue, presented a display of haute couture Christian Lacroix pieces, curated by the Victoria&Albert Museum, that inspired the collaboration.

The result of this precious partnership is cheerful, feminine and fun, with designs that mix different combinations of prints including stripes, polka dots and florals. The RIXO designers tried to keep alive the Lacroix essence by injecting baroque elements like gold buttons, embellished butterflies and velvet trims.

Each look was then styled using vintage Christian Lacroix accessories from the brand’s Paris archive, including this amazing orange hat that definitely caught my attention when sketching.

This sketch, created during the show, is part of my London Fashion Week AW20 live illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Italia.
