SAINT LAURENT SS20

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

The Spring/Summer 2020 Saint Laurent fashion show at Paris Fashion Week was essentially a jaw-dropping moment for me, taking place in Trocadero, right next to the Eiffel Tower, with a set design consisting of a sea of spotlights that secured a dramatic atmosphere.

For this season Anthony Vaccarello, at the helm of the brand since 2016, presented a collection that kept referencing his founder Yves Saint Laurent, reshaping everything for a more contemporary clientele.

That's the case for "Le Smoking", part of the DNA of the brand, reinvented here in several versions, one of them full of sequins and rocked by the legendary Naomi Campbell, who also closed the show.

The collection explored more different styles, expanding the Summer/Spring 2020 offering with a certain bohemian nostalgia, micro shorts and tight vests.

These sketches, created during the show, are part of my Paris Fashion Week SS20 live illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Italia.
