Building up his universe in a delicate balance between fashion and art, Hussein Chalayan presented "Post-Colonial Body", his Spring/Summer 2020 RTW collection, during London Fashion Week.
The new offering, once again, is a perfect example of garments that can be artistic and elevated but practical and wearable at the same time.
As anticipated by its title, the collection explores the human body and particularly how it can be affected by various historical events. The collection, then, it can be partially seen as a sort of study of movement and dance in different ethnic groups, colonised by Western countries.
In particular, the collection focuses on South America and Japan, investigating South American and Japanese dance genres that celebrate seasonal rites of fertility and abundance.
