"My secret garden, far from the maddening crowd, a perfect place to let fantasies bloom and play masculine sports, in a pannier, headband and a codpiece".
Here's a sketch based on the Spring/Summer 2020 Thom Browne collection that I created backstage last June. Needless to say, Thom Browne's designs are so inspiring and definitely a pleasure to draw from.
The show took place on a sunny day, in one of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris courtyards, and it was conceived as an exciting performance that included dancer James Whiteside, principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre.
For Spring/Summer 2020 Thom Browne goes back to the XVIII century and opens the gates of his fictional secret garden.
The garden is filled with the most beautiful statues and the most classic beauty.
It's a place where classical dance and masculine sports blend perfectly.
This sketch is part of my Paris Fashion Week SS20 live illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Hommes Italia.
