RÆBURN AW19

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

During the latest season of London Fashion Week Men's, I've had the honour to be invited sketching backstage for the Autumn/Winter 2019 Christopher Raeburn show. With this show, the brand celebrates its tenth year in business and shifts its name to simply RÆBURN, cementing its position as one of the pivotal moments of LFWM and the most eco-conscious label in the fashion industry.

If you have been following my work here on the blog or on my Instagram account, you may be already know how RÆBURN designs have been inspiring my work as a fashion illustrator for a while now. I was then more than excited to be able to sketch live backstage during the 10th-anniversary show.

The backstage was, of course, quite chaotic, so it wasn't easy to sketch those three illustrations. I mostly created the whole figure while models were getting photographed right before hitting the catwalk. I also added some details later in my studio, mostly to get as close as possible to the faces of the models.

The collection sees once again a collaboration with Timberland, as Christopher Raeburn was recently named its global creative director. Original Timberland silhouettes were reworked using some iconic RÆBURN materials like decommissioned military parachutes.

Remade, reduced and recycled have been the three key pillars of Christopher Raeburn's work, and this 10th-anniversary collection keeps to respect his commitment more than ever.

A very special thanks to Christopher and David for having me backstage in this historic moment for the brand, allowing me to create this series based on the RÆBURN AW19 collection.
