KIDILL AW19

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

Showing for the first time as part of the Paris Fashion Week official calendar, KIDILL was one of the little gems of this season. Founded by creative director Hiroaki Sueyasu in 2014, the Japanese brand was launched in 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.

KIDILL Autumn/Winter 2019 collection, showcased in the Alberta Pane gallery in the French capital, explores the British punk subculture and its fashion aesthetic, creating an analogy with the Japanese fashion.

The collection includes an exclusive collaboration with the vocalist Siouxsie Sioux of iconic punk band Siouxsie Sioux & The Banshees. Rare pictures of the singer, photographed by Seila Rock between 1975 and 1978, are indeed used throughout the collection.

The KIDILL AW19 offering reflects on the designer's own teenage memories and his recollection of the punk subculture.
