JOUR/NÉ SS19

Updated: Aug 11, 2021

On the first day of Paris Fashion Week, I had the pleasure to be invited by Léa Sebban, Jerry Journo and Lou Menais to sketch live during the fashion show of JOUR/NÉ, the brand they founded in 2015.

The show took place in the heart of Paris, not far from the Champs-Elysées, and I really had a lovely time drawing backstage such a colourful, positive and inspired collection.

For Spring/Summer 2019, JOUR/NÉ draws inspiration from the Spanish island of Ibiza and the 1970s. The Mary y Sol Café, a bar where people gather to enjoy the end of the day at the seaside in the Mediterranean island, is the background they have in mind while conceiving the show and it is also the title of the collection.

The warm colours of the sunset in Ibiza inspired a colour palette that includes orange, red, yellow and soft pink, while some of the models were sporting light garments with orange waves prints, that were quite fun to draw with watercolour.

This collection marks also the first line of shoes proudly made by the brand in Italy, perfect for every moment of the day in the warm season. Along with other colourful accessories like bags, scarves and jewellery.

The JOUR/NÉ woman is positive, feminine and confident. This attitude can be felt all around during the show as a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry.
