Held at the historic Durbar Hall at the British Foreign Office, the steventai AW18 Presentation was one-of-a-kind of experience, on the third day of London Fashion Week.
The whole presentation, in collaboration with Lucasfilm and ILMxLAB, combined fashion and technology providing a digitally immersive experience where models and attendees were transported to the neon streets of Macau.
For the Autumn/Winter 2018, Canadian born designer Steven Tai introduces a new fashion fairytale, where his heroine is an awkward math geek exploring the underground world of Macau and its markets.
Her style is a lovely compromise between quirky and feminine, with relaxed shapes and fresh textures (I just loved the asymmetrical vests, so fun to draw!). The collection is a fashion journey: from geek to chic.
Personally, this was one of the best collections that I've had the pleasure to draw. Once again I spent the whole time sketching and sketching! Drawing live during an event is a real challenge and lately, it also got me thinking about my style and how it may evolve. I really would love to hear from you, I would love to know what you think about those quick sketches!!
